Day 1: Travel from Cuiabá to Pantanal
In Cuiaba a guide will pick you up at the airport and depart to the Pantanal at 13:30. The trip to reach the famous Transpantaneira Road will last for about 2 hours. This is one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the world. Along the Transpantaneira you can admire the Pantanal’s flora and fauna. During the trip we will make several stops on the way in order to film or take photographs.
You will arrive at SouthWild Pantanal late in the afternoon, where you will have time to check-in, rest for a while and eat dinner. SouthWild Pantanal was once called Fazenda Santa Tereza, which was a traditional cattle ranch. Today, it is an eco-lodge on 3,500 hectares of flooded lands situated at the end of the Pixaim River. Here you are deep into the Pantanal where you can take boat safaris on the rivers; see monkeys, many bird species, capybaras, caymans, and giant otters. You can also explore the marked trails through the forest surrounding the SouthWild Pantanal. The lodge offers canopy tours which are strategically located at fruiting and flowering trees. Dinner is included.
Day 2 spend the day at the SouthWild Pantanal lodge
After breakfast there is the opportunity for an early morning walk in the surrounding area, but be sure to be back at lunch time. In the afternoon, you will take a boat tour through the Rio Pixaim. SouthWild Pantanal is an excellent location for bird watching, and also one of the best sites for predictable viewing wild Giant Otters from a distance of only 3 to 16 feet away. Often they will come close to the boat, craning their necks, and snorting loudly. Overnight at SouthWild Pantanal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 3 spend the day at the SouthWild Pantanal lodge
On day 3, you can go horseback riding in the Pantanal and hike in the afternoon. We are the only lodge in the Pantanal offering mobile canopy towers near fruiting trees and electric catamarans for long-lens photography on the intimate, wildlife-rich river that flows next to the lodge. These floating blinds are designed to allow you to sneak up silently on mammals and birds along the banks of the river. Overnight at SouthWild Pantanal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 4: Return from the Pantanal to Cuiabá
You may want to take a sunrise walk before breakfast to see the Pantanal wake up. After breakfast we’ll return to the Cuiaba Airport for the connecting flight, arrive about 9:30 am. Breakfast included.
