Day 1: Manaus - Amazon Turtle Lodge
Leaving the Manaus at 08:00 a.m. by car to the river port Ceasa (20 minutes). Take a speedboat to the village of Careiro da Varzea (30 minutes), at this point we will be passing by the meeting of the waters, where Negro and Solimões River meet (meeting of the waters). This is where the Amazon River is flowing from this area towards to the Atlantic Ocean. After a stop at the fruit market, take a bus or a van to the Araça River via the Manaus-Porto Velho highway (40 minutes BR319). By boat we pass many lakes, creeks, opportunity to see also water Lilies with its enormous floating leaves and native`s village and communities. An ideal spot for all type of wild life watching birds, alligators, fishes, snakes and monkeys. During this trip to the lodge you can be surprised by a creature at anytime. Arrival at Amazon Turtle Lodgeafter 40 minutes ride by boat, it is scheduled arrival around 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be served, fresh water fish, beef (meat), chicken, salads and exotic fruits from the Amazon (self service). After lunch, there is a motorized canoe trip which you will get to know the area better. Through this trip you will get to observe many animals such as monkeys, sloth, iguanas, spiders and a wide variety of birds. Dinner is served at restaurant of Amazon Turtle Lodge 07:30 p.m. fresh water fish, beef (meat), chicken, salads and exotic fruits from the Amazon (self service). (L,D)
Day 2: Amazon Turtle Lodge
At 05:30 a.m. we go for early morning sunrise and bird watching.
At 08:30 a.m. we go on a jungle trek where you?ll learn a bit about survival with our experienced guides, he shows tactics how to use wine as ropes, how to climb trees, how to find water and also food. Of course you will learn about our fauna and biodiversity. At 12:00 p.m. lunch, after lunch we go canoeing with oars to watch more birds and animals such as sloths and monkeys. Then we return to the Lodge for dinner 07:30 p.m. and after dinner you have opportunity to see the beautiful glow of the moon and hear the sounds of the creatures wondering around in the jungle. Day 3: Amazon Turtle Lodge
At 08:00 a.m. we visit natives a caboclo`s house to learn about their customs and culture. We will visit rubber and cassava plantations and others. This is a great opportunity to take photos the local native people custom see how collect fruits in the jungle, brazil nuts, herbs, vegetables and spices. Check out how they prepare their food using all this goods and taste some of this exotic product. At 12:00 p.m. lunch and you will have opportunity to experience some of those things that you saw by the natives houses (fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs). By the afternoon piranha fishing and at Dinner at 07:30 p.m., after we leave on canoe for night wild life watching and also the alligator spotting with flash light, we will catch it with bear hands (this is something that you should not try at home). You will have opportunity to take photos and hold it if you want. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Amazon Turtle Lodge
Breakfast at 07:00 a.m., during this morning we will leave the lodge by canoe to observe the fresh water pink and grey dolphins on small channels (igarapés), flooded forest areas (igapós) (months February to July) and on the rivers and lakes, just paddling and hearing the sounds of jungle. The lives of people known as (Ribeirinhos or Caboclo`s); Transfer 01:30 p.m. back to Manaus using the same itinerary, around 05:00 p.m. arrival in Manaus.
