Day 1 - Monday
On the first day you depart Hotel Tropical landing-stage at 2h30PM. After a presentation of staff, route and facilities you are going to take a canoe trip to the Xiborena region. Canoe trip in smaller creeks to see life on the flood plains: jute, market-garden produce, rubber trees, as well as flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies ( in season ). This trip returns after sunset and navigates up the Amazon ( the upper part of it called Solimões by the natives ) to lake Janauaca. This is a great opportunity to see how is wildlife at the night. Day 2 - Tuesday
Early morning canoe trip for bird-watching. There are good chances of seeing Hoatzins and large flocks of Egrets and Cirmorants. After breakfast, you are going to visit the inhabitants of the lake who live from manioc plantations, fishing, diverse fruit trees, rubber, Brazil-nut trees, wood and other extractive products. In the afternoon, you are going for fishing piranhas and other types of fish. And after dinner, there is a night tour to see nocturial animals, sometimes including night-hawk, snakes, toro-rats, sloths and frogs.(B,L,D)
Day 3 - Wednesday
Is this day is time to wake up early for bird-watching trip in the Janauary Ecological Park and nearby water ways. After breakfast, you’re going to navigate to the "Meeting of the Waters. After this tour, you navigate back to Manaus with views of the floating docks, market, old custom house and houses on stilts, to the Hotel Tropical landing-stage arriving at 11:30 am. (B)

Day 1 - Wednesday
Leaves the Tropical Hotel landing-stage at 14:30h. Presentation on board of the staff, route and facilities. Welcome drink. Navigation upstream to the Pagodão river ( tributary of the Negro ). Canoe trip shortly before sunset, returning after dark, with the possibility of observing nocturnal animals and perceiving the change in the forest as night falls. Dinner. (D)
Day 2 - Thursday
Breakfast. Walk in the forest with commentaries by the specialist. Observation of the flora. Visit to a "Caboclo" family. Chance to see the local way of life. Lunch. Navigation through the Anavilhanas, the worlds largest fresh water archipelago, more then 1000 miles from the ocean. Dinner. Night trip to see caimans and possibility frogs, sloths, snakes , and other species, depending on the season. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Friday
Visit to the village of Novo Airão, with its handcraft boat yards, sawmills, market and other activities. Lunch. Navigation to Praia Grande or other white sand beach. Swimming if conditions permit, and observation of the vegetation of sandy areas. Canoe trip in lake Acajituba or adjacent lake domains to see typical flora ( rubber trees, Brazil nuts, useful palm trees of various types ). Fishing for piranhas. Dinner. Night trip to observe caimans. Navigation. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - Saturday
Lake Janauary and Eco-reserve, Canoe trip at sunrise for bird watching, discovering the flood plain forest and lakes with giant water lilies ( in season ). Breakfast. Navigation to the "Meeting of the Waters". Return to the Tropical Hotel landing-stage, with fine views of Manaus waterfront. Arrivals at 11:30h. End of services. (B)

Day 1 - Monday
Meet the staff of the ship in the lobby of the Hotel Tropical at 2:30 PM. A short walk takes you to the river and the embarkation pier - the ships staff will take care of getting your luggage to the ship. Briefing to meet the ships staff and go over the route, facilities and rainforest etiquette. Navigation via the "Meeting of the Waters", Xiborena and Careiro region to Curari. Late afternoon canoe trip in the smaller creeks to see life on the flood plains, flood plain forest and lakes, returning to the ship around sunset. During dinner navigation up the Rio Solimoes to Lake Janauary. (D)
Day 2 - Tuesday
Up early for canoe trip for bird-watching - sunrise is an active time in the rainforest as it comes to life. There are good chances to see Hoatzins, Egrets and Cormorants. Return to the ship for breakfast and then visit some of the inhabitants of the lake who live from manioc plantations, fishing, diverse fruit trees, rubber, Brazil-nut plantations, wood and other extractive products. You will also get to walk in the forest to explore its teeming life. Late afternoon brings an opportunity for piranha fishing and after dinner you will take a silent canoe trip to look for nocturnal animals, including night-hawks, snakes, toro-rats, sloths and frogs. Downstream navigation during the evening. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - Wednesday
Another early morning birdwatching expedition in the Janauary Ecological Park or one of the other nearby waterways. Breakfast back on board as you cruise past the port of Manaus where you will have excellent views of the floating docks, market, old custom house and houses on stilts. You will arrive back to the Hotel Tropical pier around 11:30 in the morning, pick-up embarking passengers and then depart around 2:30 PM. Afternoon navigation to the Ariau river, a tributary of the Rio Negro. In the late afternoon you will enjoy your first foray into this fascinating world, exploring by silent canoe. Since you will return to the ship after dark, you may have a chance to see nocturnal animals such as the caiman. During dinner the ship will begin navigating to Acu Creek or other nearby tributary. Day 4 - Thursday
After breakfast, you will take a walk in the forest with your guide to explore the flora and fauna. You will visit a "caboclo" family for a chance to see the local way of life, preparation of manioc flour (the staple foodstuff of the Amazon) and to learn about the health and education systems. Return to the ship for lunch and then begin navigation through the Anavilhanas Archipelago, the worlds largest fresh water archipelago, more than 1000 miles from the ocean. Visit the village of Novoo Airao, where the Clipper was built, with a burgeoning boat yard, sawmill and a bustling market. After dinner you will take a trip by silent canoe to search for caimans by flashlight and to look for nocturnal animals such as the sloth, snakes, frogs and other species, depending on the season. Day 5 - Friday
Morning navigation to Praia Grande or other white sand beach where you will have an opportunity to take a swim and explore the vegetation of sandy areas. You will take a canoe trip on Lake Acajatuba or other adjacent lake to see the typical flora, such as rubber trees, Brazil Nut trees and useful palm trees and have a chance to fish for piranhas, those ferocious little fish with the razor sharp teeth. After lunch stop at the Paricatuba community to see the old abandoned rubber-boom buildings, now overgrown with straggler fig trees. During dinner begin navigation to Lake Janauary. (B,L,D)
Day 6 - Saturday
Sunrise canoe trip for birdwatching - keep an eye out for the pre-historic looking Hoatzin. Return to the ship for breakfast and navigation back to Manaus, cruising past the bustling floating port and with excellent views to the waterfront, customs house, market and houses on stilts. Arrive back at the Hotel Tropical pier around 11:30 AM. (B)

What to bring:
Although the climate is considered hot and damp all year round (about 25 to 30 degrees Celsius), it can be surprisingly cool at night in the jungle or on the river. Most of the time, passengers will find themselves wearing light clothing such as T-shirts, shorts, bathing suit and sandals, but for the hikes in the forest they should also have a long sleeved shirt, long trousers, light coat, good closed footwear such as high tennis shoes or hiking boots, small flashlight and binoculars.
